String Searching is an odd title

The title 'String Searching' is odd in a couple of ways:

1. I think one would normally say 'String Search' — the 'ing' on the end sounds really odd to me.
2. It's ambiguous in that it can suggest that the document is about searching strings, rather than search for strings in text.

Here's a suggested alternative. We already have a document entitled "Strings on the Web: Language and Direction Metadata, and this is a sister document for that. Why not, then, build on that relationship to create a title such as:

Strings on the Web: Search

I don't disagree with your reasoning, but note that this is actually a spin-off of charmod-norm (Character Model for the World Wide Web: String Matching). The naming here was done to be consistent with charmod.

Also, I think it is important not to make this a document about the totality of search. This is mostly about substring matching and find operations. Perhaps:
