[Bug]: Home overlaps wallet rows and shimmers wrapped currency symbol at maximum text size #1176

Description

@piotr-iohk

What happened?

At the largest iOS accessibility text size, the Home balance area has two visual problems:

  1. With a large PLN fiat headline, the ZŁ currency suffix wraps onto a second line. While the balance refreshes, the shimmer also sweeps across that symbol. It should affect only the amount/dots.
  2. The wallet rows overlap: the USDT label is drawn behind the Savings amount (and behind its hidden dots after hiding balances). Savings/Spending amounts are truncated, and the Spending and Receive labels are also truncated in this configuration.

Priority: Low / P3. Track as a non-blocking visual/accessibility follow-up to #1168. The wrapped-symbol shimmer is in the new effect. The broader large-text layout overlap was observed on the same build, but has not been compared against master and is not established as a regression from #1168.

Expected behavior

  • Currency symbols remain steady while only balance digits, separators or hidden dots shimmer.
  • At supported accessibility text sizes, Home expands/reflows or permits scrolling so wallet labels and amounts do not overlap. The USDT label must remain separate from the Savings amount, including when balances are hidden.
  • Wallet balances and primary actions remain readable at large text sizes.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. On an iPhone 17 simulator, open iOS Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. Enable Larger Accessibility Sizes and move the text-size slider to its maximum.
  2. Open Bitkit with USDT enabled. For this reproduction, use a disposable regtest wallet with a prepared synthetic display snapshot: USDT 1,234,567.890123, BTC/USD 100,000, BTC/PLN 400,000, and zero Bitcoin balances. This is display-only test data, not funded USDT.
  3. Select PLN as the local currency and make fiat the primary Home headline. The reproduced headline is 4,938,271.56 ZŁ; the symbol wraps below the amount.
  4. Keep the balance refresh pending or unavailable using controlled read-only RPC/FX responses. Watch the wrapped ZŁ: its brightness changes with the shimmer.
  5. Inspect the Savings/Spending/USDT rows. The USDT label overlaps the Savings amount.
  6. Swipe the headline to hide balances, then use the eye control to reveal them. The wallet-row overlap is visible in both states.

Bitkit Version

3.0.1 (202), local Debug E2E/regtest build of #1168 at e4f7ae087c909a3fa054c441fb3bafe100d8a9ea.

Device / OS

iPhone 17 simulator, iOS 26.0. Larger Accessibility Sizes enabled, maximum text size. Reduce Motion off for the shimmer recording.

Reproducibility

Consistent in the recorded configuration: the wrapped suffix is swept on repeated animation cycles, and the layout overlap persists through hide/reveal. Other device sizes and the layout on master have not been tested.

Additional context

  • A newly created disposable wallet and separate test app/storage identity were used. Only app/storage isolation and local endpoints differed from the pinned PR source; rendering and balance-refresh logic were unchanged.
  • The RPC/FX fixture served read-only synthetic display data. No payment, quote submission or transfer was performed; this report does not claim funded-transfer coverage.
  • MoneyText measures a horizontal amount span and applies its shimmer mask across the text's height. A suffix wrapped below the amount falls within that span. The wallet-row composition problem may have a separate cause and should be checked against master before assigning regression provenance.
  • Related large-text reports usdt deposit detail buttons truncate at accessibility text sizes #962 and usdt deposit history and details break at accessibility text sizes #983 concern USDT deposit screens, not this Home layout. Keep the 000 keypad label readable at largest text #1036 concerns the keypad, not the balance header.

Triage: 3.2.0, as the non-blocking Low / P3 follow-up the report describes. The shimmer on the wrapped symbol comes from the open #1168, so it can be folded into that PR if it fits before the 3.1.0 cut; the large-text overlap needs its own look.
