This project is a Hospital Appointment Management System designed to help manage hospital appointments effectively. The system consists of a backend API and a frontend application.
Before you begin, make sure you have the following software installed on your system:
- XAMPP (for MySQL and phpMyAdmin)
- Visual Studio Code (for frontend development)
- IntelliJ IDEA (for backend development)
- Tomcat Server (optional but recommended for running the application)
- Open XAMPP
- Start
Apachiserver andMySQL.
- Open IntelliJ IDEA.
- Navigate to the project directory and open the
HospitalAppointmentSystem_APIfolder. - Run the application by clicking on the
Runbutton in IntelliJ IDEA or by using theShift + F10shortcut.
- Open Visual Studio Code.
- Navigate to the project directory and open the
HospitalAppointmentSystemfolder. - Open the terminal in Visual Studio Code.
- Run the following command to start the frontend application:
npm run dev
- After running the command, a link will appear in the terminal. It will look something like this:
https://localhost:5173 - Click on the link or paste it into your web browser.
- Once you are redirected to the homepage, the URL will look like this:
https://localhost:5173/home - To access the admin panel, simply replace
/homewith/appointment-dashin the URL:https://localhost:5173/dashboard
You will now be redirected to the admin panel where you can manage appointments.
- Make sure that both the backend API and frontend application are running simultaneously.
- The backend API interacts with the MySQL database, which can be managed using phpMyAdmin provided by XAMPP.
