During debugging of something wrong with Docker asset publishing (grrr!) I noticed that for some subprocess calls I only saw the message `shell_open` and others I didn't see at all. Tracked them down to 2 places where we passed the wrong forwarding function and where we chose to not tell our consumers about the call.
