The SciTools core developers have been focused on Zarr I/O for Iris (https://github.com/orgs/SciTools/projects/62/views/1). This should be completed during November 2026, after which we will return to the backlog of lovely user-submitted issues and pull requests that we haven't got round to - listed in this milestone. We appreciate your contributions!

Since a large number of issues have been pushed back to later release milestones, it would be more honest to have a "waiting room" milestone and only put an issue into a release milestone during the planning for that release. If an issue in a release milestone is not complete, it is put into this milestone rather than the milestone for the next release.
